Overview
This course is perfect for you if you really loved the Copywriting module with Mena during the Intro to Radio course. Or even if you want to work in sales or become more creative in radio or beyond.
This 6-week part time course is hosted by Tom Bourne who’s a multi-Raward winning radio creative writer with over 20 years experience (including Creative Director for 5AA, and Senior Creative for Mix102.3 & Cruise 1323) and more recently Lecturing “Advertising & Public Relations” and Digital & Social Media” at Flinders University.
Tom’s a cheeky and charming guy who’s a great teacher with incredible passion for the industry. He’s the most beautiful person (inside and out) that I have ever worked with – if only he wasn’t married. **sigh**. Many of Tom’s students have gone on to work in Radio, TV and big Advertising Agencies.
“Being a Creative Writer for radio is one of the most under-appreciated and yet important roles not only within the radio station, but also within the whole Advertising/Marketing landscape… and it’s one of the hardest roles for radio stations to fill with someone skilled…. so, this knowledge and skills will set you apart from others going for these roles (particularly in country and provincial radio environments where people have more than one job and an announcer is usually also expected to be the copywriter.)”
We’re going to strictly cap this course, so if you’re keen let me know asap.
Cost is $700 (plus GST) Total $770.

Tom says, “you will very likely end up knowing more about being a Radio Copywriter than many others who currently fill these roles. You’ll certainly know more than I knew for the first 10 years of my career. This course will be a hell of a leg-up for anyone serious about getting into radio.”
